Summary:
This session will explore the role of Multi-Stakeholder Initiatives by looking at examples of their use in support of smallholder farmers, especially those facing climate change in Africa. We will define MSIs, provide examples of them, explore when they are effective, discuss why they are needed and illustrate how they are formed.

A facilitated mini-workshop will draw in audience members, leveraging the collective knowledge of a broad set of stakeholder types, and introducing the basic concepts of Human Centered Design. Stakeholders will be asked to share their views and experiences, working in collaboration with others to roll-up sleeves, brainstorm and design potential solutions to commonly faced collaboration challenges.
